Traditional Healing Practices
Henry McCann, DAOM, LAc, Dipl OM is a licensed practitioner of classical Asian medicine. He is a faculty member at the doctoral programs of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and the American College of TCM (San Francisco), and at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (NYC). Dr. McCann lectures on advanced topics in Asian medicine regularly throughout the United States, Europe and Asia, and is the author of several texts and numerous articles on acupuncture and other facets of Chinese medicine. Prior to training in Asian medicine he graduated from Oberlin College and Conservatory, and then was a Fulbright scholar to Japan.
Dr. McCann is an expert in Yang Sheng, the nourishing life or longevity tradition of Chinese medicine. In addition to his formal medical practice he is a 12th generation lineage holder in Chen style Taijiquan, a 3rd generation lineage holder in Hunyuan Chen style Taijiquan, and a lineage holder in a system of Daoist Neigong (Qigong) that originated with the Song dynasty immortal Chen Xiyi.
