Naga Offering Ceremony, Wind Horse Raising and Peace Prayer Flag Installation at Big Indian

  • Bodhivastu Big Indian Retreat Sanctuary 126 Lost Clove Road Big Indian, NY, 12410 United States (map)

Set your dates for Sunday, October, 11th 2015 at Big Indian. We will be performing a short Riwo sang chod, a Naga offering ceremony, and wind horse and prayer flag raising. We will raise the prayer flags donated by Loppon Jigmed Rinpoche and Dara Juels. These precious prayer flags have a unique prayer written by Kyabje Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche to prevent nuclear war. These will be placed to flank the upper level at Big Indian.

The event will start earlier in the morning around 9:30AM and there will be a vegetarian pot luck lunch so please do bring some food items to share with friends and the community.

There is also a donation opportunity here, since these important flags were donated, we must put them into action as soon as possible. Flag pole shipping times allowing, we will be hoisting them up at this event. Five poles are needed, one for each of the 5 colored flags representing the 5 wisdoms and 5 elements. One pole each, have already been donated by Hope Ives Mauran, George Subkoff and Janette Carlucci respectively and two more are needed to complete the set that keeps on giving. The poles will support new prayer flags which will be hoisted each year for the prosperity and well-being of everyone. Each pole costs $200 inclusive of the poles and cement base. People can support one pole, several poles or any amount towards a pole.
